JOHANNESBURG – The Giyani Water Project is yet to produce water for residents in 46 villages.
The project has been dogged by constant stoppages and cost overruns amid allegations of corruption.
Officials are alleged to have flouted supply-chain management processes.

Last year, a Special Investigating Unit report revealed companies had been awarded tenders unlawfully, resulting in the cost of the project ballooning from R90-million to R4.1-billion.
All residents want is the water they were promised.
Meanwhile, Deputy President Paul Mashatile will be inspecting Limpopo water infrastructure projects on Friday.
He’ll be assessing progress made to improve water services in Giyani.
